Syllabus
Standardised Syllabus from the following countries:
1. India
The Indian Medicine Central Council has standardised the syllabus for Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery. This syllabus is for all the Unani Medicine colleges all over India. The translated copy is attached for reference. [21]
The National Institute of Unani medicine offers Post graduate courses in the following fields.
- Medicine (Unani).
- Pharmacology (Unani).
- Social & Preventive medicine.
- Obstetric & Gynecology.
Currently only postgraduate courses in Unani Medicine is offered at NIUM:
- Moalajat (Medicine)
- Ilmul Advia (Pharmacology)
- Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib (Social & Preventive Medicine)
- Ilmul Qabalat wa Amraze Niswan (Obstetrics & Gynecology)
- Ilmul Saidla (Unani Pharmaceutical preparations)
The Postgraduate courses are of 3 years of durations and after the completion of the University awards the degree of “Mahire Tib” M.D/ “Mahire Jarahat” M.S (Unani).

2. Pakistan
The National Council for Tib is the main institution in Pakistan for providing standardised syllabus all over Pakistan. A copy of syllabus is attached. [22]

The Central Council of Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) is the main institute for providing continuing education programmes for Unani practitioners.
1. Reorientation training programme (ROTP) in
a. Medicine (Unani).
b. Pharmacology (Unani).
c. Social and Preventive medicine
The above continuing education programmes are sponsored and conducted by the Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Goverment of India. A copy of previously conducted CEP is attached. [23]
Council For Unani System Education
Requirements And Accreditation Process:
The Central Council of Indian Medicine is the main acting organisation for prescribing the standards for education in Unani system for both graduate and post graduate courses.
