Siddha medicine is one of the traditional Indian medicine using a therapeutic concept. It is assumed that when the normal equilibrium of the three humors (Vaadham, Pittham and Kabam 4:2:1 respectively) is disturbed, disease is caused. The factors, which assumed to affect this equilibrium are environment, climatic conditions, diet, physical activities and lifestyle play a major role, not only in health but also in curing disease. Siddha came from the word siddhi, which means perfection of heavenly bliss. Siddha system gained popularity in South India especially in Tamil Nadu.
